Job SummaryJob Summary
As a Unit 42 Product Specialist, you will be instrumental in providing product support, configuration, and deployment assistance to drive security transformation for our customers during and after security incidents. You will identify technology and policy gaps that enabled the incident and develop a holistic plan to enhance the customer's security posture. Working directly with contacts from technical experts to executives, you will leverage your expertise in Palo Alto Networks solutions to guide customers through troubleshooting, configuration, and security improvements, ensuring the adoption of best practices to prevent future incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer expert, hands-on support with deployment, implementation, and troubleshooting of information technology and security solutions and infrastructure.
- Act as a trusted advisor, guiding Unit 42 customers through implementing standards and best practices to address identified security gaps.
- Collaborate with account teams to understand customers' prior investments in PANW offerings and ensure recommendations for expansion are presented cohesively.
- Maintain a professional presence while working with diverse customer contacts, including technical administrators, executives, and boards of directors.
- Proactively identify and communicate project status, risks, and issues with client contacts and internal engagement leads.
- Provide after-hours and weekend on-call coverage as needed to support critical engagement activities.
- Travel as needed to customer locations, often with minimal advance notice, up to 50% of the time.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
- Minimum of ten years of experience in information technology, systems administration, or network administration.
- Minimum of three years of experience managing security solutions in enterprise environments.
- Deep understanding of multiple network and endpoint security technologies (e.g., next-generation firewalls, SASE, SSE, zero trust, identity management, endpoint protection, DLP).
- Engineering and design experience within Active Directory (domains, forests, trusts), IP networking (switching, routing protocols), and large-scale network infrastructure.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional or military experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting one or more Palo Alto Networks solutions (e.g., NGFW, Prisma Access, Cortex XDR/XSIAM).
- Prior experience in consulting or another client-facing role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm, composed, and articulate in high-pressure situations.
Compensation DisclosureThe compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below.
