Azure Engineer and Application Support Specialist
Job Description:
As an Azure Engineer and Application Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of a modernized solution architecture. This includes the development, maintenance, and operations of a suite of Azure-based applications. You will interpret and translate detailed requirements, technology components, and documentation for team members, clients, and executive leadership with varying levels of subject matter knowledge.
In addition to assisting with solution architecture, you will contribute to IT governance activities and security controls around the Cloud environment, including change management, performance monitoring, and testing, in alignment with industry best practices and NIST control families. You will also mentor and develop upcoming architect and engineering staff.
This cross-functional role involves collaboration with various teams such as data collection, reporting, database administrators, actuaries, economists, and cyber risk professionals to enhance the overall development and O&M processes, thereby increasing the value delivered to our clients.
You will also be responsible for root cause analysis and troubleshooting of issues within the Azure environment. This includes identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical problems, and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
Required: AZ-305 Certification
At minimum:
· Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of experience in cloud architecture and cloud integration, focusing on Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure ADLS storage).
· Experience building and managing cloud infrastructure, including design, implementation, and operations.
· Experience leading and documenting customer design sessions for Hybrid Azure solutions.
· Experience in architecting and designing technical solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS capabilities.
· Experience with Azure services and relational data processing technologies like Delta Lake.
· Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell, Azure CLI, and familiarity with SQL.
· Ability to own end-to-end development including coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
· Experience with orchestration tools like Azure DevOps (VSTS), CI/CD Build, and Release Pipelines.
· A driven self-starter and leader with strong project management experience, including successful delivery of mission-critical projects.
· Strong presentation skills, able to strategically and effectively communicate with both external and internal stakeholders, and collaborate across business units, technology, and policy teams.
· U.S. Citizen or working on a US work visa in the US for at least 2.5 years.
Preferred candidates will exhibit:
· Experience in an Agile development environment.
· Experience implementing Microsoft Azure's tool stack such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, etc.
· Experience with Databricks Delta Lake tables and familiarity with data modeling concepts.
· Experience as an Azure Engineer in a Big Data Environment.
· Experience developing, deploying, and supporting cloud solutions using APIs and other integration technologies.
· Strong skills in root cause analysis and troubleshooting within Azure environments.
