About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Principal AI Architect to lead the technical vision and architecture for a next-generation Edge AI and Vision AI platform designed for public sector and critical infrastructure environments.

This role will oversee architecture spanning edge devices, AI inference infrastructure, telemetry pipelines, cloud-native orchestration, and secure distributed systems. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in NVIDIA AI technologies, IoT protocols, Kubernetes ecosystems, and security/compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end architecture across edge, on-prem, and cloud environments
  • Design scalable real-time telemetry and sensor processing pipelines
  • Lead adoption of MQTT, Kafka, ONVIF, OPC-UA, VSS, and related standards
  • Optimize AI workloads using CUDA, TensorRT, Jetson, Triton Inference Server, and NVIDIA NGC
  • Define secure architecture aligned with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC requirements
  • Establish architecture governance, engineering standards, observability, and CI/CD practices
  • Mentor distributed engineering teams and conduct architecture reviews
  • Participate in client-facing technical discussions, RFPs, and solution strategy

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • 4+ years in architect or technical leadership roles
  • Strong background in distributed systems and IoT platforms
  • Experience with MQTT, Kafka, AMQP, ROS2, or similar technologies
  • Expertise with Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps, service mesh, and observability tools
  • Hands-on experience with NVIDIA AI and GPU ecosystems
  • Security architecture knowledge including NIST SP 800-171
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Skills:

  • FedRAMP or CMMC experience
  • Experience in defense, smart cities, transportation, or utilities
  • Familiarity with edge networking and embedded protocols
  • TOGAF or cloud certifications
