Short Description

As a Buyer I at Gamma Vacuum, you will be instrumental in managing procurement activities that support our engineering and manufacturing operations. This role demands close coordination with suppliers and internal teams to guarantee materials and services are delivered on schedule, within budget, and at the required quality level. By actively overseeing supplier performance and executing purchasing strategies, you will help ensure our production processes run smoothly and efficiently, maintaining a resilient supply chain that drives company objectives.
Your day-to-day
  • Manage assigned supplier base to ensure reliable delivery of components essential for Gamma Product development and manufacturing.
  • Process purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services, liaising with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms including pricing, delivery timelines, and service standards.
  • Collaborate with Operations Manager on RFQ preparation, distribution, evaluation, and supplier selection to enhance procurement effectiveness.
  • Review and act on MRP system recommendations, developing purchasing action plans that reflect production forecasts and demand fluctuations.
  • Communicate technical specifications, quality standards, and logistical requirements clearly to suppliers, fostering transparency and accountability.
  • Monitor supplier delivery performance and quality adherence, taking proactive measures such as expediting orders and resolving issues that threaten supply continuity.
  • Conduct supplier management meetings and participate in performance reviews and supplier audits to drive continuous improvements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Production, Engineering, and Finance to ensure aligned procurement activities and resolve invoicing or cost-related discrepancies.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO standards through diligent adherence to purchasing policies and documentation.
  • Identify supply risks and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Provide backup support to senior buyers as needed and contribute to ongoing process enhancements within the procurement function.
Your skills and experience
  • Procurement Expertise: Solid understanding of purchasing procedures and supplier management within a manufacturing or production context, with a focus on reliability and responsiveness.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of establishing strong, trust-based relationships with suppliers and internal colleagues to facilitate collaboration and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis to inform purchasing decisions, supplier evaluation, and cost management initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated proactive approach to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that enhance supply chain performance and operational excellence.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with procurement and manufacturing tools such as JobBOSS ERP, Synergy for document and workflow management, and SAP is advantageous.
  • Education: Preferably holds a two-year degree in a relevant field; however, equivalent practical experience will be taken into account.
  • Experience: At least one year of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment with a commitment to supporting production needs and supplier reliability.
  • Language: Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
