Job#: 3028819 Job Description: ***If interested in the opportunity below please email a copy of your resume to ***Position: Transport Engineer (Provisioning & Equipment Engineer)Location: Remote30 Month ContractThe position requires involvement throughout the life cycle of a service order including the design and material procurement. The Engineer will utilize TIRKS, Capacity Creation Process (CCP) system, Canvas, FIM and other internal systems to document all technical solutions and ensure a timely deployment of service.
Provisioning & Equipment Engineer is responsible for the following:
- Provisioning of all service orders including but not limited to TDM (T1/T3), Ethernet & Dark Fiber services
- Circuit design utilizing TIRKS (Trunk Integrated Record Keeping System)
- Equipment design utilizing the Intelligent Edge Network (iEN) and GPON network
- Creation of legacy transport systems utilizing TIRKS
- Determines routing of high-capacity circuits over fiber & GPON networks
- Responsible for equipment configurations and card/port assignments
- Manages multiple Capacity Creation Requests for new hardware deployments, reconfigurations, and decommission
- Manages design requirements for circuit additions, upgrades, outside moves, repairs & rearrangements
- Ensure that work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards.
- Coordinate and drive engineering issues to resolution
- Maintain excellent communication with field engineering, cross functional team members and direct management to ensure early identification of issues and timely resolution
- Collaborate with Construction, ISP Planning teams, VPS and OCO
Required Skills/Experience
- TIRKS
- OSP Engineering background
- Proficient computer skills (windows-based programs and corporate database systems).
- Demonstrate knowledge of circuit design, SONET, TDM, T1s, ISDN
- Strong working knowledge of SONET equipment - Fujitsu, Ciena, Cisco, Tellabs, Alcatel Lucent, & Adtran.
- Candidate should have strong skills in oral and written communications, attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and organize work tasks.
- Must be able re-prioritize as needed in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time sensitive issues and mandated deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with customers, management and team members to deliver customer satisfaction.
Desired Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields
- CAD Drawing - IDDS (Intelligent Design and Drafting System) /ICGS (Interactive Computer Graphics System)
