Job DetailsResponsibilities
- Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC programs utilizing Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms
- Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions for advanced manufacturing, packaging, filling, labeling, and material handling equipment
- Configure, troubleshoot, and support Human Machine Interfaces, SCADA systems, and industrial data collection platforms
- Integrate new machinery into existing control systems and manufacturing plant networks while documenting PLC code revisions
- Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical systems including 480V power distribution, motor control circuits, three phase motors, VFDs, and servo systems
- Design and review complex electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control system architecture
- Configure and maintain industrial communication networks including EtherNet, PROFINET, and Modbus protocols
- Calibrate and troubleshoot sensors, instrumentation, photo eyes, encoders, limit switches, and critical safety devices
- Provide high level technical support for plant mechanical equipment including industrial pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, mixers, and fluid handling utility systems
- Determine whether equipment failures are caused by electrical, controls, software, or mechanical issues and coordinate appropriate corrective actions
- Lead automation and controls engineering projects from original concept through final implementation
- Participate in equipment validation activities including Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, and Performance Qualification
- Ensure control systems comply with all applicable manufacturing regulations, quality standards, and OSHA safety guidelines
Requirements
- Advanced programming and troubleshooting knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems including 240V or 480V power distribution and three phase motor controls0
- Direct technical experience troubleshooting inkjet coders, specifically Hitachi brand equipment
- Experience with variable frequency drives, servo systems, motion control, HMIs, and SCADA platforms
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings
- Robust knowledge of industrial networking and machine communication protocols
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems, fluid handling equipment, pumps, conveyors, and facility utility systems
- Strong technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Nice to Haves
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- Prior engineering experience in a regulated consumer goods contract manufacturing or private label environment
- Advanced understanding of equipment validation processes within an asset management framework
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems and automation data analysis tools
