About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior OpenText Exstream Developer with deep, hands-on experience building and maintaining enterprise document composition solutions. This role focuses on
Exstream itself (Dialogue / Extreme / Designer)-not the broader OpenText platform-and involves developing and supporting
statement templates driven by structured inbound data.
You will work with
multiple statement types, transforming incoming data streams into high-quality, business-critical customer communications.
ResponsibilitiesExstream Development (Core Focus)- Design, build, and maintain OpenText Exstream (Dialogue / Extreme) templates for high-volume customer communications.
- Develop hands-on Exstream solutions that process inbound data feeds and render output documents accurately and efficiently.
- Support and enhance multiple statement formats (at least two distinct statement types), ensuring consistency and correctness.
- Work directly in Exstream Designer/Extreme to build rules, fragments, sections, and layouts.
- Implement reusable template structures and logic to reduce duplication and improve maintainability.
Data Input & Template Logic- Consume and interpret structured data received for statement generation.
- Map incoming data elements to templates with precise business rules.
- Handle conditional content, formatting rules, and layout variations based on data attributes.
- Ensure accurate handling of fonts, pagination, localization, and dynamic content areas.
Quality, Testing & Production Support- Perform end-to-end testing of Exstream templates using sample and production-like data.
- Troubleshoot rendering issues, data mismatches, and layout defects.
- Support production deployments and resolve issues related to statement generation.
- Ensure outputs meet business, branding, and regulatory requirements.
Operational Collaboration- Work closely with business users, analysts, and upstream system teams that provide statement data.
- Assist with template updates driven by regulatory, branding, or business changes.
- Participate in release cycles and coordinate deployments of updated Exstream templates.
Minimum Qualifications- 7+ years of hands-on development experience with OpenText Exstream (Dialogue / Extreme / Designer).
- Proven experience building and maintaining statement templates in production environments.
- Strong expertise working with inbound data feeds used to drive Exstream documents.
- Experience supporting multiple document or statement formats.
- Deep understanding of template logic, conditional rendering, and layout configuration.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in high-volume transactional document generation (e.g., financial or regulatory statements).
- Familiarity with Exstream production support and troubleshooting.
- Experience working in controlled or regulated environments where document accuracy is critical.
