Summary

The Role

This is a hands-on mechanical engineering role spanning design, prototyping, and lab validation. You'll create 3D models and 2D drawings, build switch prototypes, help set up test environments, and verify that mechanical components and materials perform as intended. You'll support both liquid-cooled and air-cooled products and work closely with internal teams, cross-functional partners, and external customers.

What You'll Do

  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings for switch hardware and mechanical components
  • Assemble switch prototypes in the lab
  • Help set up bench and chamber-based test environments
  • Verify the performance of mechanical components and materials
  • Write and deliver test reports to the engineering team
  • Support the development and validation of liquid-cooling and air-cooling solutions
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers, team members, and cross-functional groups

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Strong 3D modeling and 2D drawing skills in mechanical CAD tools (PTC Creo preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly
  • Working knowledge of PCB board placement
  • Solid understanding of mechanical material properties, especially sheet metal and plastics
  • Familiarity with reliability lab equipment, including EMC scanners, ESD guns, shake tables, environmental chambers, and acoustic test equipment
  • Self-motivated and comfortable owning and leading assigned projects
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a diverse team

Nice to Have

  • Industry, internship, or project experience in mechanical design or hardware validation
  • Exposure to thermal management, particularly liquid cooling, for networking or server hardware
