Quality Assurance Lead (Big Data / ETL Testing)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance activities for enterprise data and analytics initiatives.
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, and test cases.
• Perform ETL testing, source-to-target validation, and data reconciliation.
• Validate large datasets within Hadoop and data warehouse environments.
• Write and execute complex SQL and HQL queries for data verification and analysis.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts to support testing, automation, and data validation activities.
• Review business requirements, technical specifications, and design documents to identify testing requirements.
• Ensure complete testing coverage across data ingestion, transformation, reporting, and analytics processes.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project teams throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in risk assessments and provide recommendations to improve software quality and testing efficiency.
• Mentor junior QA team members and promote testing best practices.
• Support both ongoing projects and future enterprise initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of Quality Assurance and Software Testing experience.
• Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience working in Hadoop environments.
• Strong experience with ETL Testing and Data Warehouse Testing.
• Hands-on Python development experience.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience performing complex data validation.
• Strong HQL (Hive Query Language) experience.
• Experience validating large-scale data processing and transformation workflows.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC methodologies.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Banking, Financial Services, Risk Management, or highly regulated industry experience.
• Experience with test automation frameworks.
• Experience working within onshore/offshore delivery models.
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hive, HDFS, Spark, and related Hadoop ecosystem tools.
• QA, Software Testing, or related certifications.
