Job Description

Lead Cybersecurity Engineer

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph to be considered.

Cherokee Preting is looking for a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Defense Intelligence Agency's (DIA) Analytic Innovation Office. The Engineer will support the delivery of end-to-end expertise for designing, developing, sustaining and modernizing mission-critical capabilities.

Pay commensurate with experience.

Lead Cybersecurity Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for leading the implementation of secure coding practices and the overall security posture of all applications.

  • Provides cybersecurity leadership and oversight for all contract activities.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures.

  • Coordinate with Government cybersecurity teams and ensure compliance with all applicable security framework and regulations.

  • Oversee security testing, vulnerability management, and incident response activities.

  • Mentors' cybersecurity staff and promote security awareness across the contractor team.

Lead Cybersecurity Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience applying cybersecurity principles and secure software development practices

  • Must have a DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP+, CCNP Security)

  • Able to work independently with limited oversight

  • Experience leading small teams, strategic planning and mentoring junior staff

  • Must have an active TS/SCI Clearance

  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
