CONTRACT JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of network analysis related to infrastructure design.
- May be an expert in security or intrusion detection.
- Proficient in proprietary network technology.
- Advanced experience with, but not limited to, routers, firewalls, switches, and servers.
- Advanced knowledge in network analysis.
- Advanced problem resolution and project management skills.
- Designs and implements class wide area networks.
- Experience with Firewalls, VPN, encryption, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and penetration testing.
- Knowledge of network vulnerabilities and be able to mitigate and prevent each one.
- Supporting the replacement, lifecycle management, and upgrade of networking equipment, including core, distribution, and access layer switches; routers; firewalls; and related hardware used across the agency’s network environment
- Creating, maintaining, and improving detailed network diagrams for all agency systems, including logical network maps, physical connectivity diagrams, and system‑to‑system interfaces used by 911 and 311 operations.
- Developing and maintaining rack elevation diagrams, equipment inventories, and cabling documentation for data centers, communications rooms, and remote agency sites
- Preparing and maintaining documentation of network configurations, standard operating procedures, change records, and disaster recovery materials specific to the 911 environment.
- Monitoring network performance and availability, identifying bottlenecks or vulnerabilities, and implementing corrective actions to ensure the resiliency required for 24/7 emergency communications
