Overview

The Information Security Architect leads the strategy, design, development, and implementation of risk-based security architecture across the University's technology landscape, with specialized expertise in cloud and hybrid cloud environments. This includes experience with key security domains such as risk assessment, security operations, vulnerability management, application security, secure configuration, network security, and identity security management for both on-premises and cloud-based systems. The role encompasses implementation and management of Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), and other cloud-native security tools and frameworks.

Required Skills and Abilities

1.Well-developed consulting skills and adept at working across multiple departments to break down barriers to collaboration and partnership

2. Demonstrated experience in organizing and articulating relationships between multiple complex IT systems

3. Proven experience participating in the design of enterprise architectures or leading large-scale systems integrations

4. Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor

Principal Responsibilities

1. Examine and validate broader subsystems standards and assure that inter-system architectures are both efficient and consistent with existing institutional standards and practices.
Identify Technical Gaps / and Technical Debt within your area of formal expertise.
2. Establishes new paradigms for their area expertise.
3. Develops, documents, and disseminates standard assemblies of technologies to flexibly and efficiently solve University needs.
4. Responsible for establishing design decisions and assuring that the implementations are socialized and understood by the effected parties.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree and seven years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
