Job Description We are seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP) to support the Global Head of Algorithmic & Electronic Trading Risk Management. This role sits in the second line of defense and provides oversight of algorithmic and electronic trading activities across Equities, Fixed Income, and FX. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in electronic/algorithmic trading, market microstructure, or trading-technology controls, and is comfortable working with trading data, logs, and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Electronic Trading Risk Oversight - Provide daily second-line oversight of algorithmic and electronic trading activity across asset classes.
- Perform initial analysis of limit breaches, control rejections, exceptions, and connectivity events.
- Conduct assessments of algorithm behavior and order flow to identify potential risks, anomalies, or control gaps.
Governance & Controls - Assist in maintaining and enhancing the global governance framework for electronic and algorithmic trading risk.
- Prepare content and materials for governance and oversight committees.
- Support periodic reviews of controls against applicable regulatory frameworks, including SEC Rule 15c3-5 and Reg SCI.
Testing & Change Management - Participate in testing for algorithm releases and control changes, partnering with technology and trading stakeholders as needed.
- Review change logs, test plans, and testing documentation to ensure completeness and control alignment.
Operational Risk & Remediation - Support risk and control self-assessments (RCSA), scenario analysis, and event quality assurance (QA).
- Track and support remediation efforts for audit, regulatory, or internal risk findings, including documentation and evidence collection.
Qualifications & Requirements - Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in electronic trading, algorithmic trading, trading technology, or eTrading risk/controls.
- Working knowledge of the order lifecycle (from order creation through routing/execution), routing logic, algorithm components, and market microstructure.
- Familiarity with FIX protocol concepts, trading logs, and connectivity behavior/events.
- Foundational understanding of U.S. electronic trading regulation (including SEC Rule 15c3-5 and Reg SCI).
- Strong analytical skills; detail-oriented, proactive, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Undergraduate degree in a STEM field.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and Python.
Preferred (Optional) - Experience supporting oversight across multiple asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, FX).
- Prior exposure to governance committee processes and regulatory/audit remediation tracking.
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $150,000 - $175,000.

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
