Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe MQSeries (IBM MQ) System Programmer to install, configure, support, and optimize IBM MQ on z/OS environments. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and secure message-based integration for mission-critical mainframe applications.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM MQ (MQSeries) on z/OS.
Design, implement, and support MQ Queue Managers, channels, queues, and clustering.
Perform SMP/E maintenance, patching, and version upgrades.
Monitor and tune MQ performance, capacity, and message throughput.
Diagnose and resolve MQ errors, abends, channel issues, and connectivity problems.
Support high availability and disaster recovery configurations for MQ.
Integrate MQ with CICS, IMS, and DB2 applications.
Manage MQ security using RACF / ACF2 / TSS.
Support SSL/TLS configurations, certificates, and secure channel communication.
Participate in DR testing, failover exercises, and SLA compliance.
Coordinate with application, network, and platform teams for deployments and issue resolution.
Maintain MQ documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
Provide 24x7 production support as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience as an IBM MQ / MQSeries System Programmer on z/OS.
Hands-on expertise with:
- MQ Queue Manager setup and administration
- Channels, queues, clustering
- SMP/E for MQ maintenance
Solid understanding of z/OS system internals.
Experience integrating MQ with:
- CICS
- IMS
- DB2
Knowledge of MQ security and SSL/TLS.
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
