Senior Technical Project Manager / Agile Project Manager

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager with a strong Agile delivery background to lead complex, cross-functional software and technology initiatives from planning through release. You will partner with engineering, product, QA, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget, while coaching teams on Agile best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent projects or a large program, from initiation and scoping through deployment and post-release support
• Lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives) and serve as Scrum Master or Agile coach where needed
• Work with Product Owners to build and prioritize the backlog, define roadmaps, and align delivery with business goals
• Translate business requirements into technical delivery plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and acceptance criteria
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk; maintain RAID logs and escalate issues proactively
• Partner with architects and engineering leads on technical design, trade-offs, and release strategy
• Oversee CI/CD, release management, and change control processes in collaboration with DevOps and QA
• Track and report progress using KPIs and metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time, defect rates, budget variance)
• Communicate status, risks, and decisions to executives and stakeholders through dashboards and regular reporting
• Manage vendors, third-party partners, and distributed or offshore teams
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, tooling, and team performance
• Mentor junior project managers, Scrum Masters, and team members

Required Qualifications

• 11+ years of experience in project or program management, with at least 5 years managing software or technology projects
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, multi-team initiatives using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
• Strong technical understanding of the SDLC, APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), microservices, and DevOps practices
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools; MS Project or Smartsheet a plus
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation
• Strong stakeholder management, with experience presenting to senior leadership
• Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
• Experience working with distributed, cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM/PSM, SAFe Agilist (SPC), or PgMP
• Master's degree or MBA
• Experience with data, QA automation, ERP/CRM, or digital transformation projects
• Background in a regulated industry (finance, healthcare, insurance) with compliance awareness (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR)
• Experience scaling Agile across multiple teams or leading an Agile transformation
• Prior hands-on technical background (developer, QA, business analyst, or systems engineer)
