About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced hardware systems. This role involves translating customer requirements into practical engineering solutions while balancing technical, schedule, and cost objectives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute across the product lifecycle from concept development through deployment and manufacturing support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop mechanical concepts and detailed designs for complex hardware systems.
  • Translate customer requirements into engineering solutions.
  • Perform technical planning, analysis, and problem-solving activities.
  • Support hardware integration, verification, and testing efforts.
  • Apply design-for-manufacturing principles to improve producibility and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain engineering processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and program teams.
  • Manage multiple priorities across concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analyze system-level challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide engineering support for low- to medium-volume production efforts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and product development activities.
Must-Have Qualifications

Principal Mechanical Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related STEM field with 5+ years of experience; OR
  • Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience using engineering design, analysis, production, and productivity tools.
  • Ability to work onsite in Annapolis, MD.

Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related STEM field with 8+ years of experience; OR
  • Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience using engineering design, analysis, production, and productivity tools.
  • Ability to work onsite in Annapolis, MD.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX.
  • Experience with Teamcenter PLM.
  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience designing undersea vehicles and associated systems.
  • Hardware design experience across development lifecycles.
