Location: Chandler, Arizona
Hybrid Schedule (3 days onsite/2 days remote)
Employment Type: 12 mo. Contract
Pay Range: $67-70/hr.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join a team responsible for the reliability and support of container platforms, including on-premise Openshift and external cloud environments like MS Azure, AWS, and Google. The role involves monitoring and troubleshooting platform-related alerts and incidents, managing the application lifecycle, and participating in a 24x7 global operations team with on-call and shift coverage requirements. You will regularly interact with teammates, shift leads, platform clients, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for container platforms (Openshift on-prem, MS Azure/AWS/Google).
- Monitor and troubleshoot alerts and incidents related to the platforms.
- Perform Incident and Problem Management as required.
- Manage application onboarding, troubleshooting, and support throughout its lifecycle.
- Participate in weekend on-call coverage and shift rotations as part of a 24x7 global operations team.
- Liaise with teammates, shift leads, platform clients, and vendors.
- Contribute to container security and vulnerability remediation.
Required Qualifications
Education: A BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Kubernetes, Openshift, RKE, or EKS container platforms. Experience working in a highly available, multi-datacenter environment is required.
Technical Skills:- Proficiency in Python, Ansible, Golang, and shell scripting.
- Strong experience in compute, storage, network, and security services.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git and Jenkins, and familiarity with the GitOps model.
- Excellent understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems administration.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux OS, DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, and Windows Authentication.
- Strong understanding of complex IAM infrastructure, including Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, Azure AD, and SSO solutions like Ping Identity.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Dynatrace, Splunk, Sysdig, Azure Monitor, or Log Analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Kubernetes, Openshift, or Terraform certifications.
- Experience with Terraform, ArgoCD, Tekton, and K-native technologies.
- Experience in agile deployment methodologies (GitOps).
- Knowledge of various container runtimes and familiarity with the operator deployment pattern.

The role requires a systematic problem-solving approach with a sense of ownership and drive. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changes in project scope, and work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
