Application Architect: III (Senior) / Solutions Architect

Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite Hybrid Schedule)

Pay: 70-78/hr W2 contract

Role Overview

Our organization is seeking an Enterprise Payments Solution Architect to define and govern end-to-end technology solutions that support strategic business initiatives. This role is responsible for translating business needs into secure, scalable, and maintainable solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards. The Solution Architect will partner with business leaders, product teams, and engineering to ensure solutions support long-term objectives and technology modernization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define solution approaches and high-level architecture designs aligned to enterprise standards.
  • Translate business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions across applications, platforms, and data flows.
  • Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including scalability, resiliency, performance, and security.
  • Present and defend solution designs through architecture review and approval forums.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and governance processes.
  • Partner with product owners and engineering teams to guide architecture decisions throughout delivery.
  • Contribute to and maintain solution and domain roadmaps.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and patterns for applicability to enterprise solutions.
Required Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience across multiple IT disciplines is required, including experience in at least two of the following: solution or application architecture, application development, middleware or integration technologies, database management, or infrastructure technologies. Experience working in complex enterprise environments is also necessary.

Technical Skills: A working knowledge of Wires application is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting financial services or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns such as APIs, event-driven, batch, and messaging.
  • Experience collaborating across business, product, and engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain architectural decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
