About the Role
As an Engineering Technician focused on slope monitoring, you will support critical engineering and operational initiatives at our Miami smelter and rod plant. This role plays an essential part in ensuring pit wall stability through data collection, equipment maintenance, and technical analysis. You will work closely with engineers, vendors, and field teams to support safe and efficient mining operations.

About the Role
As an Engineering Technician focused on slope monitoring, you will support critical engineering and operational initiatives at our Miami smelter and rod plant. This role plays an essential part in ensuring pit wall stability through data collection, equipment maintenance, and technical analysis. You will work closely with engineers, vendors, and field teams to support safe and efficient mining operations.

Responsibilities
- Assist with routine engineering projects including layout, design, and specification development
- Collect and analyze data from slope monitoring equipment to support engineering decisions
- Utilize engineering software and tools to solve technical problems
- Support slope stability projects through design assistance and fieldwork
- Conduct technical evaluations of equipment and materials for engineering review
- Organize and maintain accurate project documentation
- Train personnel on operation and maintenance of slope monitoring equipment
- Manage and maintain calibration standards for monitoring devices
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors on installation, maintenance, and data interpretation
- Support installation and operation of slope and water level monitoring systems
- Perform troubleshooting and validation of monitoring data across various instruments
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and identify potential hazards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering or technical field relevant to slope monitoring or similar environments
- Advanced knowledge of specialized equipment, tools, and techniques, including GIS/GPS mapping
- Experience working with drill crews and contractors to install slope and water level monitoring equipment
- Hands-on experience deploying, maintaining, and repairing pit wall monitoring systems, including:
- Slope radars
- Robotic total stations
- Piezometric well monitoring instruments
- GPS systems
- Time-Domain Reflectometry (TDR) equipment
- Proven ability to validate and troubleshoot data from multiple monitoring systems
- Strong understanding of safety practices and hazard recognition

Work Environment & Requirements
- Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam and all pre-employment testing

- Ability to work non-standard schedules, including shift work in a 24/7 operation
