Position: VXLAN Data Center Automation Engineer

Location: Dallas, TX(1-2 days onsite per month for important meeting)

Hiring Mode: 6 Months Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled VXLAN Data Center Automation Engineer to support a large-scale data center expansion effort in Dallas, TX. The customer recently deployed a VXLAN EVPN based architecture overseas and is now replicating that environment in the U.S. This role will focus on hands-on deployment, automation, operations, and integration into the customer s CI/CD framework. Hardware has been delivered onsite, and work will center around operationalizing the NX-OS VXLAN fabric and supporting the client s automation-driven deployment model.

Responsibilities:

• Replicate and deploy an existing VXLAN EVPN based data center methodology in the Dallas location.
• Work hands-on with Cisco Nexus switches (standard VXLAN EVPN not ACI).
• Support configuration and deployment of routed data center environments.
• Integrate infrastructure configurations into the client s CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
• Adapt to the customer s specific CI/CD framework and co-developed deployment model.
• Onboard into customer systems and operate within established production processes.
• Provide consultative guidance on architecture, best practices, and alternative solutions.
• Collaborate onsite with customer engineering teams and work alongside UK-based architects during the initial deployment.

Qualifications:

• 8 10 years of hands-on data center networking experience.
• Demonstrated experience building or supporting CI/CD-based deployment models.
• Strong automation background with the ability to support evolving codebases.
• Recent hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus (NX-OS) and VXLAN EVPN.
• Strong consultative mindset with the ability to propose best practices.
• Broad exposure to multiple data center deployment methodologies.
• Cisco experience required; Arista acceptable only with recent NexVXLAN experience.
• Candidates with Huawei experience cannot be considered due to onboarding restrictions.

Tools and Technologies:

• Automation Development: Python, Ansible, Git-based CI/CD tooling.
• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Declarative, repeatable automation workflows.
• API Integration & Tooling: REST APIs, NETCONF/YANG, Cisco NSO.
• Validation & Testing: Automated validation, linting, and guardrails for configuration assurance.
