Primary Responsibilities This is essentially a
Computer Operations / IT Operations role with hands-on Mainframe responsibilities.
The individual will primarily be responsible for:
- Incident ticketing and management
- Monitoring network and server infrastructure
- Report distribution
- Service Desk support
- Monitoring, documenting, triaging, and escalating incidents
- Submitting requests to run Mainframe batch jobs
- Running/submitting CICS commands for printing and reviewing reports
KEY MUST-HAVES1. ServiceNow experience - MUST HAVE Candidates should have hands-on experience using ServiceNow, particularly in an IT operations, incident management, or Service Desk environment.
2. Hands-on IBM Mainframe experience - MUST HAVE They are looking for operational Mainframe experience rather than Mainframe development. Relevant experience could include:
- Computer/Mainframe Operations
- Batch job submission
- CICS commands
- Console operations
- Report processing
- Mainframe monitoring
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - What's Up Gold
- Pingdom
- PRTG
- Network/server infrastructure monitoring
- Microsoft Teams
- JCL / batch processing
The manager prefers candidates with the listed monitoring tools, but comparable enterprise monitoring experience may still be worth considering.
Best profile: Computer/IT Operations professional with hands-on IBM Mainframe experience, ServiceNow, infrastructure monitoring, and experience working in a 24/7 or shift-based environment.
