THE WORK:- You'll perform pre-engineering studies to support scoping, including system coordination evaluations, CT ratio evaluations, and protection requirements for project design.
- You'll conduct pre-engineering job walks (field visits) and collaborate with the Substation Electrical RE or Electrical DPE to finalize the scope of work.
- You'll review, design, and approve protection engineering drawing packages, including one-line diagrams, AC/DC elementary diagrams, and logic diagrams, ensuring compliance with design standards and project philosophy.
- You'll perform system modeling using tools like CAPE and CYME to conduct short circuit and protection coordination studies for relay settings.
- You'll prepare and issue relay settings for substation relays and field auto-reclosers and perform quality assurance reviews of protection deliverables.
- You'll provide field support for commissioning and in-servicing relay settings, including reviewing as-left relay setting files and communicating with test technicians for revisions.
- You'll collaborate with stakeholders, such as substation engineers, project managers, and test technicians, to support reliability and maintenance of the grid.
- You'll maintain and apply knowledge of NERC PRC compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to PRC-23, PRC-27, and PRC-26 standards.
- You'll develop and program relay settings for various protective devices, including microprocessor and electromechanical relays.
- You'll travel to field locations occasionally to support job walks or testing needs as required.
- Flexible: The work location for this role will include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client or in an Accenture office or center.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
- At least five years of protection engineering experience related to transmission and distribution

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:- Experience with protection, substation, or distribution engineering in the electric utility industry
- Experience in performing system studies, symmetrical component analysis, and fault calculations
- Hands-on experience with automation of sub-transmission substations and relay upgrades for transformer banks, transmission, and distribution lines
- Expertise in setting calculations for protective fuses and auto-reclosers in distribution lines
- Proficiency in relay setting software such as GE EnerVista UR Setup and SEL AcSELerator
- Knowledge of NERC PRC compliance requirements, including PRC-23, PRC-27, and PRC-26
- Experience with computer-aided protection engineering software, such as CAPE, CYME, ASPEN relay database, or Bluebeam
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project)
- Strong resource and project planning skills, with a track record of results delivery and staying current with emerging technologies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively address client business needs

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York or Washington as set forth below.
