Specialization: ADP Tax Integration Position Budgeting Period Accounting

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Workday HCM & Payroll Consultant with deep, hands-on expertise in ADP tax processing integrations, Workday Position Budgeting, and Period Accounting. The ideal candidate has successfully delivered end-to-end Workday implementations or optimization engagements and can operate confidently across both functional configuration and client-facing advisory roles.

Core Responsibilities

ADP Tax Integration

• Configure and maintain Workday ADP SmartCompliance integrations for federal, state, and local tax processing
• Troubleshoot tax filing discrepancies and reconcile payroll tax liabilities
• Support year-end W-2, ACA, and tax reporting cycles

Position Budgeting

• Design and configure Workday Position Budgeting workflows aligned to organizational hierarchies
• Partner with FP&A teams to establish budget scenarios, salary planning, and headcount forecasting
• Build calculated fields and custom reports to support budget variance analysis

Period Accounting

• Manage payroll period accounting configurations including journal entry mapping and accruals
• Coordinate period close activities and ensure GL reconciliation between Workday Payroll and Financials
• Identify and resolve period accounting exceptions during month-end and quarter-end

Delivery & Advisory

• Lead workstreams across discovery, design, configuration, testing, and go-live
• Serve as a trusted advisor to HR, Payroll, and Finance stakeholders
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal knowledge base

Required Qualifications

Must Have

• 5+ years of Workday HCM/Payroll implementation experience
• Hands-on configuration of ADP tax integrations within Workday
• Direct experience with Workday Position Budgeting module
• Working knowledge of Period Accounting and payroll journal entries
• Workday Pro Certification (HCM, Payroll, or Financials preferred)

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with Workday Financials (GL, Accounting Center)
• Background in multi-state and multi-entity payroll environments
• Familiarity with EIBs, Studio integrations, and Workday Extend
• Prior consulting firm or Big 4 delivery experience
• Knowledge of Adaptive Planning (Workday Adaptive) for budgeting
