Data Center Technician Location: On-Site
Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts | Alternating 3-Day/4-Day Work Weeks
Build and Support Critical Data Center InfrastructureOur client is seeking a motivated
Data Center Technician to support the hardware infrastructure that powers large-scale computing environments. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in computer hardware, networking, or Linux systems who enjoy hands-on technical work and troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues. You'll work alongside experienced technicians to install, maintain, and repair servers and networking equipment while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
What You'll Do- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve server and network hardware issues
- Perform hardware replacements, upgrades, and repairs on data center equipment
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve infrastructure problems
- Monitor and maintain data center systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime
- Execute hardware installation, rack-and-stack, and cabling activities
- Utilize command-line tools and diagnostics to identify system issues
- Document repairs, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting efforts
- Escalate complex issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams when needed
- Follow operational procedures and safety guidelines while working in a live data center environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence
Required Qualifications- Minimum 1 year of computer hardware experience
- Minimum 1 year of networking experience
- Minimum 1 year of Linux operating system experience
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Physical Requirements- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work throughout the shift
- Comfortable working at elevated heights when necessary
- Ability to work in an active data center environment with varying temperatures
Work ScheduleThis position follows a rotating schedule consisting of alternating 3-day and 4-day work weeks with 12-hour shifts.
Please note that schedules may be adjusted based on business needs and can include:
- Extended shifts when required
- Alternate shift assignments
- Night shift opportunities
- Other schedule modifications with advance notice whenever possible
Preferred Qualifications- Previous data center operations experience
- Experience supporting enterprise servers and networking equipment
- Familiarity with rack-and-stack deployments
- Experience working in mission-critical environments
- Knowledge of structured cabling and infrastructure best practices

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Plain City, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.63 - $22.63/hr.
