Job DetailsJob Details:
We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical to ensuring the safety of our construction projects, as you will be responsible for designing and implementing fire sprinkler systems that meet the highest industry standards. You will work closely with our team of construction professionals, architects, and engineers to design customized fire protection solutions for a variety of commercial buildings. This is an excellent opportunity to use your expertise in NFPA codes, CAD Drafting, Hydraulic Calculations, Seismic Bracing, Fire Pump Layout, Commercial Fire Sprinkler systems, BIM Design, Clash Detection, HydraCAD, AutoSPRINK, and NICET to make a significant impact on our projects and help us maintain our commitment to safety and excellence.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and layout of fire sprinkler systems using specialized software.
2. Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure optimal performance of systems.
3. Interpret and apply NFPA codes and standards to design projects.
4. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction team to integrate fire sprinkler systems into overall building design.
5. Prepare comprehensive reports and drawings and present design proposals to clients and stakeholders.
6. Use BIM Design and Clash Detection to identify and resolve potential issues in the design phase.
7. Design and layout of fire pump systems in accordance with the standards.
8. Utilize HydraCAD, AutoSPRINK, and other design software effectively.
9. Continually update knowledge on new technologies and industry trends to enhance service offerings.
10. Ensure all designs comply with legal health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire sprinkler design in the construction industry.
3. Proficient in NFPA codes, CAD Drafting, Hydraulic Calculations, Seismic Bracing, and Fire Pump Layout.
4. Experience with Commercial Fire Sprinkler systems, BIM Design, Clash Detection, HydraCAD, AutoSPRINK, and NICET.
5. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes related to fire safety.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
8. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
9. Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
10. NICET certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology - Water-Based (formerly Automatic Sprinkler) Systems Layout is a plus.
