Duration: 12 months contract

Job Description:

Seeking an Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer to design, prototype, test, and release precision opto-mechanical assemblies for advanced optical systems. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop precision opto-mechanical assemblies and mechanisms.
Work with system, optical, electrical, and software engineers to define subsystem requirements and participate in design reviews.
Create and maintain Creo 3D CAD models and mechanical designs.
Perform actuator selection, tolerance analysis, lifetime evaluation, optics mounting, and alignment/adjustment design.
Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation.
Qualify and release mechanism designs for manufacturing.
Provide engineering support to onsite manufacturing and resolve design-related issues.

Experience:

Experience in opto-mechanical design or precision mechanical design.
Strong hands-on experience with Creo / 3D CAD.
Experience designing precision mechanisms, actuators, optical mounts, and alignment systems.
Knowledge of tolerance analysis, mechanical design, and design validation.
Experience taking designs through prototype, qualification, and manufacturing release.
Strong cross-functional engineering and problem-solving skills.

Skillsets:

Experience with ANSYS or similar CAE tools.
Knowledge of thermal, structural, or flow analysis.
Experience with optical, imaging, inspection, metrology, or precision instrumentation systems.
Semiconductor equipment or other high-precision equipment experience.
Experience supporting manufacturing and production ramp.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering
