Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Drupal IT Developer to support large-scale website modernization, accessibility compliance, and content migration efforts. This role focuses on building, enhancing, and maintaining Drupal-based websites that are secure, scalable, mobile-friendly, and compliant with WCAG 2.1 / Section 508 standards.

The position collaborates closely with application developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-traffic, public-facing web solutions and support ongoing platform enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Drupal-based websites and supporting infrastructure
• Deploy and manage Drupal environments in cloud platforms (Azure or similar)
• Perform content analysis and migration from legacy CMS platforms into Drupal
• Configure content types, menus, users, permissions, media, and site settings
• Develop custom Drupal modules, themes, and sub-themes
• Implement responsive UI components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks
• Integrate APIs to support mobile and desktop applications
• Configure multilingual content, translations, and localization features
• Conduct performance profiling, load testing, and optimization
• Execute security testing and remediate vulnerabilities
• Perform automated and manual accessibility testing, including keyboard navigation and screen reader validation
• Resolve defects, support stakeholder reviews, and implement enhancements
• Produce regular status updates documenting progress and deliverables

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining Drupal-based web applications
• Strong experience with Drupal module and theme development
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (e.g., Azure DevOps, CircleCI, or similar)
• Experience managing cloud-based infrastructure and monitoring solutions
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (ARM templates, Bicep, Ansible, or similar)
• Advanced Drupal site configuration experience (menus, users, blocks, content types, settings)
• Experience with multilingual Drupal implementations
• Advanced Drupal theming experience, including responsive design and Sass/CSS customization
• Strong understanding of Git workflows (branching, merging, patching)
• Ability to design and implement reusable, testable code
• Experience configuring and maintaining Apache, Tomcat, or Lucee environments
• Demonstrated experience delivering web accessibility compliance for large organizations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

• Experience managing automated and manual accessibility testing processes
• Expertise in ARIA, semantic HTML, focus management, and keyboard accessibility
• Experience testing accessibility across web, mobile, PDFs, and kiosks
• Strong understanding of information architecture, usability, and inclusive design
• Prior experience supporting large, complex, or public-sector web platforms
