Position Summary: Specialized technical work functioning in applications programming and systems analysis. Work involves the formulation of applications systems' scope and objectives to meet user requirements and needs based upon advanced knowledge of, and experience with, data processing and systems analysis techniques. Work includes devising or modifying procedures to solve complex problems using data processing technology, while staying within the capacity and limitations of the equipment, operating time and form of desired results. Reviews the preparation of detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs. Work may also include functioning as technical consultant in one or more highly specialized areas of applications programming and analysis.
Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications: Successful completion of 24 hours in computer science coursework or certification and three years of experience coding, testing, and debugging application programs or four years of experience coding, testing, and debugging application programs.
Preferred Experience: Experience developing client server applications. Experience working with complex financial and accounting systems. Experience with object-oriented technology.
Preferred Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visual Studio, .NET (C#, VB), Java Script, SQL, Sql Server DB, Oracle, and GitHub.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: KBI and FBI fingerprint required due to access to Federal Tax Information files in KDOR systems.
