JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Professional with a strong DevOps background to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Snowflake cloud data platforms, a solid foundation in Python for automation and scripting, and practical knowledge of AWS cloud services. This role will focus on optimizing our data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support our data-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Snowflake environments, including user management, role-based access control (RBAC), and resource monitoring.
  • Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines within Snowflake, ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
  • Establish appropriate reference architecture and patterns for data engineering that leverage Snowflake data engineering capabilities
  • Leverage Python to develop automation scripts, monitor system health, and streamline operational workflows.
  • Integrate Snowflake with AWS services (S3, Lambda, IAM) to support data workflows and cloud infrastructure needs.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and automated deployment processes.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in Snowflake, providing proactive solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices to support team knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
  • Stay updated on Snowflake features, AWS advancements, and DevOps tools to recommend improvements and innovations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Snowflake Administrator or in a similar data platform role.
  • Proven DevOps experience, including familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions) and version control systems (Git).
  • Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data manipulation. - Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, IAM.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, data sharing, and Snowpipe, Snowpark, Snowflake Native Apps, Data Sharing and Replication
  • Proven experience in identifying inefficient use of the platform and providing targeted optimization recommendations to consumers
  • Understanding of database concepts, SQL, and data warehousing best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Snowflake certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced Architect).
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to additional cloud platforms (Azure) is a plus.
  • Background in data engineering or analytics workflows.
