My client is a leading medical device manufacturing who is growing! They are looking to add a Process Engineer who is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting an aluminum anodizing production line.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

Process Control & Optimization
  • Monitor and maintain all stages of the anodizing line, including cleaning, etching, desmutting, anodizing, dyeing, and sealing.
  • Optimize process parameters such as temperature, voltage, current density, bath chemistry, and dwell times.
  • Analyze process data to identify trends and implement continuous improvements.

Chemical Management
  • Maintain proper chemical concentrations and balance in process tanks through regular testing and adjustments.
  • Develop and refine chemical treatment procedures to improve coating quality and consistency.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on chemical usage, replenishment, and waste treatment.

Quality Assurance
  • Ensure anodized coatings meet required specifications for thickness, corrosion resistance, color consistency, and adhesion.
  • Investigate defects (e.g., burning, streaking, uneven coating) and implement corrective actions.
  • Support audits and maintain documentation for quality standards (e.g., ISO, customer specifications).

Equipment & Maintenance Support
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure proper functioning of rectifiers, pumps, filtration systems, and conveyors.
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues affecting the process line.
  • Recommend upgrades or modifications to improve system reliability and efficiency.

Required Knowledge and Experience
  • 3-7 years of experience in a related job role or in chemical processing or surface finishing, preferably in aluminum anodizing
  • Bachelor's degree Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with knowledge of technical subject matter
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including an internship in a relevant trade.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
  • Strong understanding of electrochemistry and metal finishing processes
