Senior Java Developer (Contract)About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our technology team on a contract basis. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications that support critical business operations. You will work closely with architects, product owners, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced Agile environment.
This opportunity is ideal for a self-driven developer who can quickly contribute, solve complex technical challenges, and help modernize enterprise systems using cloud-native technologies and microservices architecture.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-performance Java applications.
- Build scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and production support.
- Collaborate with solution architects and technical teams to define application architecture and integration strategies.
- Develop and consume REST and SOAP web services across distributed systems.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries and integrate with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Perform code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and performance issues.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps initiatives.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Required Qualifications- 7+ years of professional Java development experience.
- Strong experience with Java 11, 17, or 21.
- Deep expertise in the Spring ecosystem:
- Spring Boot
- Spring MVC
- Spring Data
- Spring Security
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with Git-based source control systems.
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Cloud platform experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience with Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or DynamoDB.
- Familiarity with API gateways and service mesh technologies including Kong and Istio.
- Exposure to Angular or React.
- Industry certifications such as:
- Oracle Java SE Certified Professional
- AWS Certified Developer
- Related cloud or Java certifications
