Job Description

The Team

We are seeking an AI Assisted Software Developer to join American Tower's Information Technology organization's Solution and Platform Delivery team. The team designs, develops, enhances, and supports enterprise applications that enable scalable, secure, and efficient business operations across the organization.

Day to day you will develop and modify application features, refactor existing codebases, review and improve AI-generated code, participate in testing and code reviews, and support continuous improvement of enterprise software solutions. As an Associate Software Developer, you will translate functional requirements into working code using AI-assisted development tools, apply engineering best practices, and build foundational expertise in enterprise application development within an AI-enabled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise application features and/or create new applications using AI-assisted development tools.
  • Refactor and modernize existing codebases to improve performance, scalability, readability, and maintainability.
  • Craft effective prompts for AI tools to generate high-quality, usable code aligned with development standards.
  • Review, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs to ensure correctness, clarity, security, and alignment with architectural guidelines.
  • Diagnose and resolve defects while improving application reliability and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and application testing activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support application development and enhancement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor's degree required, with a concentration in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional enterprise software development experience, including using AI-assisted development tools to design, generate, refactor, and debug application code (i.e., leveraging AI to accelerate coding, explain existing logic, optimize implementations, and support development decision-making) required.
  • English fluency required; multilingual capabilities preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of at least one enterprise programming language, framework, or platform.
  • Proficiency in using AI tools for code generation, explanation, refactoring, and debugging within professional development workflows.
  • Ability and willingness to learn enterprise architecture patterns, coding standards, and secure development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
