The Environment Management Engineer plays a critical role in the stability, predictability, and maturity of Salesforce's internal environment ecosystem. This engineer will support the end-to-end lifecycle of sandbox provisioning, environment governance, metadata/configuration alignment, CI/CD optimization, and automation that improves the speed and quality of delivery across hundreds of scrum teams.

responsibilities:
Develop scalable automation to improve sandbox provisioning, refresh processes, and environment lifecycle operations.
Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and validation frameworks to ensure environment health.
Debug, optimize, and enhance complex Apex, Lightning, or integration patterns impacting environment behavior.
Contribute to design, build, and evolution of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, CumulusCI, and related tools.
Participate in code reviews, develop reusable deployment patterns, and support source-driven development.
Build automated tests (unit, integration, smoke, performance) to ensure high-quality deployments and reduced regression risk.
Maintain environment runlists, API governance, metadata classification, and security models in collaboration with EM.
Ensure 100% compliance with SOX, change management, data retention, and environment access controls.
Document and maintain Salesforce policies, architecture artifacts, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Support incident resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive engineering to strengthen platform reliability.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, maintain sprint commitments, and proactively identify improvements for the environment ecosystem.
qualifications:
4-6 years of Salesforce platform engineering or development experience.
Strong proficiency with Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, flows, process automation, and SFDC configuration.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, CumulusCI, SonarQube, Sauce Labs).
Experience supporting or integrating with MuleSoft via Anypoint Studio (MuleSoft certifications strongly preferred).
Deep understanding of Salesforce metadata management, deployment strategies, profiles, permission sets, and API governance.
Solid knowledge of audit/compliance frameworks (SOX), data integrity policies, and secure development practices.
Experience supporting multi-scrum, multi-org environments, preferably large-scale enterprise Salesforce implementations.
Comfortable working in fast-paced Agile/Scrum teams with strong prioritization and project execution skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills-able to translate technical challenges into partner-friendly language.
