Cyber Security Project Manager
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Rate: CAD $85–$90/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Project Manager to lead and deliver enterprise cybersecurity initiatives within a complex and highly regulated environment. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and successful delivery of cybersecurity programs that align with organizational security strategies and operational objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of cybersecurity domain expertise, project management leadership, and executive-level stakeholder management skills. Experience working across both IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of cybersecurity projects from initiation through deployment, transition to operations, and project closure.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocations, and delivery milestones.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality expectations.
- Facilitate project planning, status tracking, change management, and project governance activities.
- Maintain project documentation, including project charters, schedules, RAID logs, status reports, and executive presentations.
Cybersecurity Program Management
Manage and coordinate cybersecurity initiatives related to:
- Security Monitoring and Operations
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Network Security
- Endpoint Security
- Infrastructure Hardening
- Security Tool Implementations
- Security Governance & Compliance
- Infrastructure Resiliency
- OT/IT Security Integration
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Maintain and manage RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, and Dependencies).
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation and escalation strategies.
- Support governance, audit, compliance, and operational readiness activities.
- Prepare and present project updates to executive leadership and steering committees.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise cybersecurity standards, governance frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between cybersecurity teams, infrastructure teams, business stakeholders, operational sites, vendors, and external partners.
- Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, governance meetings, and stakeholder reviews.
- Manage vendor relationships, Statements of Work (SOWs), project deliverables, and implementation activities.
- Provide proactive communication regarding project status, risks, dependencies, and resource constraints.
Technical & Operational Coordination
- Coordinate cybersecurity solution deployments, infrastructure upgrades, integrations, testing, and operational readiness activities.
- Support security assessments, remediation initiatives, cutover planning, and post-implementation stabilization efforts.
- Ensure technical and operational documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience managing cybersecurity and/or infrastructure-related projects.
- Proven experience delivering cybersecurity initiatives in large enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity domains, including:
- Security Monitoring

- Endpoint Security

- Demonstrated experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications.
- Experience working with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Required Certifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) – Required
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) – Required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), or critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience in mining, energy, utilities, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with enterprise security governance frameworks and compliance programs.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex technical environments.
