Job DescriptionWorkday DeveloperCharlotte, NCCandidates MUST go on site 3 days/week W2 only The Workday Developer will play a key technical role, contributing to the design, build, and deployment of Workday solutions as the customer migrates from a legacy HR system to Workday. This role requires deep hands on expertise in Workday Extend (highest priority) and/or VNDLY, with additional experience in Workday Orchestrator considered a strong plus. The developer will partner closely with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and downstream technology teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant Workday solutions that support enterprise HR processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesWorkday
Development & Solution Design
- Design, build, and deploy Workday Extend applications to support new HR capabilities and replace legacy system functionality.
- Develop integrations and workflows using VNDLY, ensuring seamless alignment with Workday HCM and contingent workforce processes.
- Utilize Workday Orchestrator (if applicable) to streamline integration flows, error handling, and automation.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Partner with architects and developers to ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and performance expectations.
Migration & Implementation Support
- Contribute to the Workday migration program by rebuilding or reimagining legacy functionality using Extend, VNDLY, and Workday-native tools.
- Support data conversion, integration mapping, and end-to-end testing cycles.
- Troubleshoot issues across environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve defects and optimize performance.
RequiredSkills & Experience- 7+ years of Workday development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in at least one of the following (must have one):
- Workday Extend (highest priority)
- VNDLY (second priority)
- Experience with Workday Orchestrator is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of Workday HCM data structures, security, and integration frameworks.
- Experience developing REST- and SOAP-based integrations, Workday Studio integrations, or custom applications.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Experience supporting large-scale Workday implementations or migrations.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
PreferredQualifications- Experience in large enterprise environments, ideally within financial services.
- Knowledge of HR processes, contingent workforce management, and downstream HR systems.
- Prior experience working with security-sensitive or regulated data environments.
Workday certifications in Extend, Integrations, or related modules

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $96.00/hr.
