This outstanding opportunity as a Staff Firmware Engineer allows you to build the future of controller firmware for innovative non-volatile memory systems.
In this position, you will assist in evaluating, designing, building, bench testing, debugging, and failure analyzing firmware for new high-performance memory controllers and Solid State Drives that will increase performance, while reducing power, latency and SoC (System on Chip) complexity for the target markets. You can expect to work closely with firmware engineers, firmware test engineers, ASIC design engineers, system test engineers, system failure analysis engineers, product engineers, firmware tools developers to solve cross-functional product development issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop SSD BackEnd firmware using C programming language.
  • Perform build verification through simulation and product testing.
  • Validate customer requirements and perform failure analysis on FW related issues.
  • Participate in SCRUM/Agile processes and distributed code reviews.
  • Build and maintain documentation that meets internal and industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in storage firmware development and debug using logic analyzer.
  • Proficiency in firmware development, verification, system failure analysis, and embedded systems build.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze challenges and develop innovative solutions to complex issues.
  • Expertise in C/C++ programming and debugging in an embedded firmware application.
  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge or working experience with Nand flash.
  • Experience with development tools and IDEs such as Slick Edit and SourcePoint.
  • Familiarity with ARM/ARC Microprocessors, with specific experience on ARC or ARM Cortex.
  • Understanding of the Agile software development process life cycle.
  • Ability to analyze complex firmware and hardware issues and optimize performance of critical algorithms.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$127,000.00 - $269,000.00 a year

Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.
