Description

The Senior SharePoint Designer/Administrator will support the Vanguard 2025 contract in the Network Technologies office of US Department of State. The SharePoint Designer/Administrator will report to the Vanguard Program Management Office and will assist in the daily application management, administration, and project-oriented support of relevant frontend SharePoint tenant environments and Power Platform workspaces. This is not a backend infrastructure/architecture/hardware/server administrator position.

This role is primarily remote, but candidate must be located within the Washington, DC metro area to report into the office (Washington, DC or Springfield, VA) as needed on short notice.

Description of Duties:
  • Designs and implements tools and technologies to promote knowledge management and collaboration within the organization
  • Serve as point of contact and Tier 1-3 support for Microsoft SharePoint Online service requests
  • Perform routine and complex administrative updates, account management and group permissions, metadata setup and configuration, global navigation, and notifications.
  • Manage SharePoint Online tenant production portal site collections content and configuration under guidance from government leadership
  • Engineer and develop new sites, features, libraries, lists, workflows using SharePoint industry best practices.
  • Automate business processes, collect data, and develop dashboarding using Power Platform
  • Develop and maintain internal and user documentation of governance, policies, plans, procedures, and quick reference and usage guides associated with administration, design, development, and application support of site collections; as well as related project artifacts such as requirements lists, test plans, for Tier 2-3 related requests.
  • Lead and provide guidance to other teammates


Qualifications

Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelors in Information Technology (IT) related discipline and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of nine (9) years of experience working in a SharePoint environment
  • Proficiency with SharePoint Online and SharePoint 2016 administration, architecture, and design
  • Proficiency with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI)
  • Experience with JSON
  • Experience with end-user or customer support in an IT environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft M365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project)


Required Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance. Interim secret is required prior to starting work.
  • Active secret clearance or higher is highly desired.

  • SharePoint 2013/2016/Online experience
  • SharePoint Designer 2013 and Info Path 2013 experience
  • Business process engineering (e.g. workflow development)
  • Tier 1/2/3 customer support
  • Adobe Creative Suite 2014 and greater

  • CompTIA Security + certification


Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
