Summary

Network SME Palo Alto / Firewall Specialist

Experience Required

6 8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network and firewall engineering, with strong exposure to Palo Alto Networks and LAN switching technologies.

Core Technical Skills

Strong working knowledge of firewall platforms including Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, and Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN - covering installation, configuration, and end-to-end troubleshooting of network connectivity issues.
Subject Matter Expertise on L2/L3 Palo Alto firewalls, including full lifecycle configuration and advanced troubleshooting support.
Solid grasp of routing and switching fundamentals: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, along with switching concepts such as VLANs, STP, and VTP.
Hands-on experience with Firewalls, VPN, NAT, High Availability (HA), App-ID, User-ID, URL Filtering, and Content Filtering.

Role Responsibilities

Maintain and manage security and networking infrastructure, including timely upgrades and lifecycle management.
Provide end-to-end engineering support to other team members on Palo Alto hardware and software.
Take ownership of GlobalProtect VPN operations, including troubleshooting and user-impacting issue resolution.
Drive vulnerability remediation and patching activities across firewall and network devices.
Conduct live packet captures, perform deep-dive analysis, and produce troubleshooting reports.
Participate in cross-training initiatives to transfer knowledge across the in-house team and balance workload distribution.
