A leading manufacturer has an immediate opening for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer. This position requires a dynamic, quick thinking, intuitive, engineer to design machine control panels for a variety of wash equipment which must exceed all NEC and UL requirements.
Highlights include:
- Design and manufacture UL certified control panels including schematic drawings, panel layouts, selecting electrical components, and establishing BOM.
- Investigate new technology and perform research and development testing to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Conduct process development testing to validate mechanical and control system design functionality.
- Assist field personnel and external customers with on-site equipment commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Responsible for supplier selection, negotiations with suppliers involving price, quality, delivery, and ensuring that products meet requirements.

Requirements:
We are looking for a bright, industrious, and creative Team player to design and develop complex systems and related manufacturing processes. Successful candidates must have documented work experience requiring the understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their associated controls including a thorough understanding of P&IDs and process controls (sensors, equipment, motor control devices, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
- Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in control panel design, UL manufacturing environment, and programming with field experience throughout product life cycle.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience with digital design, panel layout, schematic design, ladder logic programming, system testing and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in programming/ integrating PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Direct Soft) and HMIs (Panel View, C-more, and Pro Designer).
- Electrical AutoCAD experience.
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and UL, as well as best practices for control panel design.
- A very high electro-mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
- Ability to work autonomously, collaboratively, and as a member of a cross-functional team.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and strongly motivated with a sense of urgency.
- Flexible and well organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Some travel may be required.
