Audio Engineer Embedded Systems, DSP & Audio Firmware Development - 67996
Pay Rate: $45 - $50/hr
We have an immediate need for an Audio Engineer based in Redmond, WA, working in an onsite environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge audio technologies and embedded systems within a highly innovative and collaborative setting.
In this role, you will design and develop embedded audio solutions, working across firmware, hardware interfaces, and signal processing systems. You will build and optimize real-time audio applications using C and C++ in RTOS or bare-metal environments, ensuring high performance across multi-core and multithreaded systems. The position involves working with audio hardware interfaces such as I2S, PDM, I2C, SPI, and UART, along with integrating and optimizing audio DSPs including HiFi and Qualcomm Hexagon. You will also be responsible for debugging complex system-level issues using lab equipment and software tools, contributing to power-efficient firmware design, and supporting hardware bring-up, schematic reviews, and PCB-level validations. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to deliver robust and scalable audio solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded C/C++ development with hands-on experience in RTOS or bare-metal firmware. A solid understanding of audio signal processing concepts, DSP integration, and distributed compute systems is essential. Experience with Bluetooth audio stacks, USB audio, or wireless audio protocols is highly desirable, along with familiarity with Audio Precision tools and hardware debugging techniques. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are critical for success in this role.
