Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer responsible for the development and design of web applications and components across both front-end (GUI) and backend.

The selected candidate will design, code, test, and implement websites and applications for internal or external use, troubleshoot issues related to performance, response times, capacity, and system limitations, and collaborate with internal business partners, internal technology resources (database, system, networking), and external vendors.

Technical Skills Summary

Important for candidate screening: Ruby on Rails, Ruby, API development, React, and database experience are core requirements. Golang/Java, AWS, and testing frameworks are preferred skills.

Analytical, Problem-Solving, and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including cross-functional collaboration and relationship building.

Golang and Java: Expert knowledge of Golang, Java, or a similar compiled, high-concurrency, lower-level language (Erlang, C++, Rust, etc.).

Testing, QA, and DevOps: Working knowledge of integrated testing frameworks (RSpec, MiniTest), CI suites (CircleCI, Jenkins), DevOps, and AWS infrastructure.

Knowledge of integrating Generative AI (GenAI) into development workflows.

6+ years of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React), database design, and queries (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).

6+ years of API design and interface technologies (JSON, ProtoBuf, REST, RPC, XML, etc.).

6+ years of experience with the Ruby on Rails framework and Ruby as a core language.

6+ years in a senior software engineering role.

Create and maintain documentation for developed applications.

Maintain applications and ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency.

Collaborate with internal business partners, internal technology resources, and external vendors.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, response times, capacity, and system limitations.

Design, code, test, and implement large-scale web applications and components across the full stack (front-end GUI and backend).
