Overview
System One is seeking a Senior GenAI & Data Engineer to develop and integrate AI-enabled solutions within a large-scale financial services environment. This role combines hands-on Generative AI and LLM development with strong data engineering, Python, and AWS cloud expertise.
This position has an onsite expectation of 3–5 days per week in Reston, VA with local candidates preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate AI-enabled solutions within a large-scale financial services environment.
- Build AI agents and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, create scalable data pipelines and workflows.
- Develop and implement AI capabilities with enterprise applications and data platforms, ensuring solutions are practical and aligned with business requirements.
- Leverage AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock, AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and AWS Step Functions for cloud-native development.
- Design and maintain containerized and event-driven workloads in cloud environments.
- Connect applications, data platforms, AI services, and enterprise systems via REST APIs and systems integration techniques.
- Translate business and product requirements into effective technical implementation strategies for AI-enabled products.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure successful project delivery from start to finish.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), including development of AI agents and enterprise AI solutions.
- Experience implementing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and working with Amazon Bedrock.
- Advanced Python and PySpark skills for data processing, analytics, automation, and AI application development.
- Strong data engineering expertise, including developing data pipelines, data models, and processing large-scale data.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services such as AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and AWS Step Functions.
- Proficiency in developing cloud-native solutions using serverless, containerized, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with REST API development and system integration for connecting applications and data platforms.
- Ability to interpret business needs into practical technical solutions and implement effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively with technical and business teams.
- Financial services or other highly regulated enterprise experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
