Public Health GIS Coordinator and Team Lead

We are seeking a GIS Coordinator & Team Leader to spearhead geospatial planning, data visualization, and surveillance activities for public health preparedness and disease tracking. In this role, you will lead a technical team, manage project deliverables, and regularly collaborate with state, local, and private sector stakeholders.

Work Arrangement: Remote (Open to Local Candidates Only)

Location: Indiana (Must be local for required in-person meetings and regional events)

Interview Process: 1st Round via Teams | 2nd Round Strictly In-Person

Travel: Reimbursable travel required for local events and an annual national conference in San Diego.

Core Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & PM: Serve as the point of contact for the data analytics team, managing project timelines, workflows, and performance metrics.
• Geostatistical Analysis: Create complex data visualizations and reports tracking disease outbreaks, public health hazards, and resource accessibility.
• App & Workflow Automation: Build web applications using both out-of-the-box services and custom code, automating data integration workflows.
• Data Governance: Implement strict data governance and security best practices for all geospatial products.

What We Are Looking For

Management & Collaboration (Required: 4+ Years)

• Proven experience leading technical teams, tracking project metrics, and engaging with diverse stakeholders.

Technical Stack (Required: 2+ Years)

• ESRI Suite: Expert knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS SaaS, and configurable applications.
• Programming & Automation: Strong proficiency in Python (ArcPy, ArcGIS API, web scraping) and JavaScript (ArcGIS JavaScript API).
• Databases & SQL: Solid experience managing data within Oracle and SQL Server environments.
• GIS Essentials: Deep understanding of geospatial concepts, cartographic design, and data governance.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

• Hands-on experience or familiarity with GeoAI applications.
