Custom Business Solutions, a Michigan-based talent agency, is seeking an experienced Technical Scrum Master / Delivery Lead for a software engineering opportunity. Qualified candidates submitting an application will be considered for this contract opportunity.
The Technical Scrum Master / Delivery Lead will drive Agile delivery within a SAFe environment while owning the software release lifecycle from planning and testing through environment promotion and production deployment. This role requires strong technical fluency, release management expertise, and the ability to proactively manage delivery risks, dependencies, and engineering quality.
REQUIRED SKILLS
5+ years Scrum Master, Delivery Lead, or Technical Project Management experience in software engineering
Hands-on release management and software delivery lifecycle experience
SAFe / scaled Agile experience, including PI Planning
Sprint ceremonies, backlog management, and cross-team dependency management
Azure DevOps Boards, Dashboards, and Queries
CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, APIs, SQL, and cloud concepts
Environment promotion (INT → CERT → PROD), code freezes, and rollback procedures
Enterprise change management, including ServiceNow, CAB, CR/CHG/CRQ, or PRR
Release gates, regression testing, code coverage, and automated testing practices
Code quality and security tools such as SonarQube and Veracode
Delivery and release metrics, including velocity, cycle time, deployment frequency, MTTR, and change failure rate
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and production incident management
Strong technical risk identification, escalation, and stakeholder communication skills
DESIRED SKILLS:
Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Splunk
API contract and integration testing
Technology modernization and technical debt management
PR metrics and branching strategy experience
Release audit trails, deployment documentation, and incident postmortems
Experience coaching engineering teams on Agile and sustainable delivery practices
Strong leadership, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
