Work Mode: Remote (with planned onsite travel)
Onsite Requirement: ~15 days total (3 trips, ~1 week each)

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Senior SAP Platform Engineer to support the development, deployment, and operations of a modern SAP platform (SAP 2.0). This role combines platform engineering, automation, infrastructure, and SAP operations.

The ideal candidate is a strong builder who can design CI/CD pipelines, develop automation tooling, manage containerized environments, and ensure platform reliability in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance a containerized SAP platform and supporting services
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for build, release, and deployment processes
• Create and manage Docker images, Dockerfiles, and container standards
• Develop and maintain Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, and YAML configurations
• Build automation and tooling using Bash and Go for provisioning, orchestration, and troubleshooting
• Deploy and support workloads across:
  • Kubernetes
  • Red Hat OpenShift
  • Azure Local
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SAP, infrastructure, networking, security)
• Support platform reliability, monitoring, and incident response
• Create documentation, runbooks, and operational standards
• Drive best practices for secure, scalable hybrid cloud SAP deployments

Required Skills & Experience

Development & Automation

• Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline development
• Advanced Bash scripting
• Working knowledge of Go (Golang)
• Experience building and maintaining Docker containers
• Strong expertise in Helm charts
• Deep understanding of YAML configurations

Containers & Cloud Platforms

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift
• Exposure to Azure Local and AKS
• Knowledge of:
  • Container lifecycle management
  • Persistent volumes, secrets, config maps
  • Ingress, services, jobs, init containers, sidecars
• Strong troubleshooting skills across container platforms

Infrastructure & Networking

• Strong Linux (RHEL-based) administration skills
• Solid networking fundamentals:
  • DNS, TCP/IP, routing
  • Firewalls, load balancing
  • Ingress/egress, proxies, subnets
• Ability to troubleshoot across:
  • Infrastructure
  • Kubernetes/OpenShift
  • Networking and hybrid cloud layers

SAP Platform Experience

• Experience supporting SAP workloads such as:
  • SAP HANA
  • SAP infrastructure
  • SAP runtime services
• Understanding of enterprise SAP operations and hybrid deployments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerized SAP environments
• Knowledge of GitOps and release automation
• Exposure to security hardening and compliance automation
• Experience managing stateful workloads in Kubernetes
• Strong documentation and runbook creation skills
• Experience working across cross-functional enterprise teams
