Senior Java Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Senior Java Developer in Boston, MA.

Responsibilities:
* Serve as a technical lead for assigned business-critical applications
* Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
* Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams to deploy and optimize applications
* Improve application performance, reliability, and scalability
* Evaluate and recommend technologies aligned with enterprise standards
* Participate in system design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and production support
* Build and maintain secure, high-quality applications and automated test coverage
* Support CI/CD practices, automation initiatives, and development process improvements
* Monitor operational risk and ensure appropriate controls are followed
* Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and delivery practices

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience preferred
* 6+ years of experience developing enterprise software solutions
* Strong Java development experience with modern application frameworks and distributed systems
* Experience designing secure, scalable, and resilient applications
* Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architectures, and messaging platforms
* Experience with relational databases, performance optimization, and data scalability strategies
* Knowledge of caching technologies and application performance tuning
* Experience with cloud environments, container platforms, and orchestration technologies
* Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices
* Experience working in Agile development environments
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
* Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced, regulated environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
