Description

Maintains and supports manufacturing processes in an Electronic Production environment to achieve output, quality, and cost goals of the organization. This position focuses on establishing processes and process control for the SMT lines and related post SMT operations along with providing technical support to equipment operation, operators, and programmers. In addition, this position will collect data and make decisions based on established production metrics.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes processes and process control for SMT lines and related production areas
  • Establishes process monitoring to ensure processes remain in control
  • Works in a cross-functional team to document and improve existing processes
  • Works in a cross-functional team to support Continuous Improvement aimed at driving Operational Excellence
  • Works with machine vendors for technical support as required to establish or improve production processes
  • May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of other employees
  • Uses technical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot issues on the Production floor, including SMT, THT and Selective Solder issues
  • Recommend changes and/or upgrades to equipment, work methods, and the production process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources
  • Identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve
  • Works with Quality to monitor scrap, rework and other quality metrics and uses this data to drive process improvements
  • Advises Manufacturing Engineering teams on floor plan designs and layouts to ensure infrastructure improvements support existing production processes and process improvements
