Title: E-Commerce Engineering (AEM) Lead
Location: Fort Lauderdale or Miami, FL (4 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote)
*Role Overview:*
We are seeking a senior, hands-on Lead E Commerce Engineer to drive the design, development, and optimization of customer-facing digital commerce platforms. This role blends technical leadership with active hands-on delivery, owning architecture, platform integrations, and engineering execution across large-scale e commerce experiences.
You will lead a small but high-impact engineering function, partner closely with Product, UX, Content, and Marketing teams, and ensure the platform is scalable, secure, performant, and conversion-focused.
*Key Responsibilities:*
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
Lead and mentor e commerce engineers; set technical standards and conduct code reviews
Remain hands-on with architecture and development (React-centric front end, modern APIs)
Own the full SDLC: design, build, test, deploy, and optimize
Platform & Architecture
Architect and enhance core e commerce capabilities: catalog, checkout, payments, OMS
Drive integrations across CRM, booking engines, logistics, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and third-party APIs
Own performance, SEO, accessibility (WCAG), and reliability across digital properties
Manage CDN and edge solutions (Akamai), event-driven and microservices architectures
Adobe & MarTech Focus
Strong ownership of the Adobe ecosystem including AEM, Adobe Experience Platform, Journey Optimizer, Analytics, Target, and personalization tools
Partner with UX, Content, Merchandising, and Engagement teams to power personalized digital experiences
Leverage experimentation, analytics, and session replay tools to drive conversion improvements
Operational Excellence
Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing automation, monitoring, and observability
Ensure compliance with PCI, PII, encryption, and data privacy standards
Optimize cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform)
Strategy & Business Alignment
Translate business goals into technical roadmaps and execution plans
Influence product roadmap decisions with data-driven insights
Evaluate emerging technologies (AI-driven search, AI-assisted testing, edge computing)
*Required Experience & Qualifications:*
Core Requirements
7+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in a technical leadership role
Strong hands-on experience with React-based web applications and APIs
Deep experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) (3+ years strongly preferred)
Solid knowledge of Java / Spring Boot and modern backend integration patterns
Experience with microservices, SPAs, event-driven and serverless architectures
Strong understanding of PCI, WCAG, PII, encryption, and security best practices
E Commerce & Web Stack
Salesforce Commerce Cloud, OMS, CRM integrations
API Gateways, GraphQL, OAuth
CDN, DNS, SSL, Akamai / edge computing
AI-driven search (e.g., Coveo or similar)
