Palmer Group's client is seeking an IT Field Engineer to join their team and support a migration to a new tenant environment. This handson, travelfocused role is essential in ensuring smooth enduser computing transitions across multiple sites. The ideal candidate excels in independent onsite work, collaborates well with remote IT teams, and delivers reliable technical support during critical migration activities.

What You Will Do:

Deploy and configure laptops and enduser hardware at migration sites
Set up user accounts, profiles, and access within the new tenant environment
Install and configure standard applications and software packages
Ensure users can access email, file shares, applications, and network resources after migration
Validate user connectivity to required security tools
Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues during migration windows
Serve as onsite technical point of contact during migration cutovers
Coordinate with remote IT systems administrators on schedules and site readiness
Execute migration runbooks and checklists for enduser computing components
Document issues, workarounds, and lessons learned for each site

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

3 4 years of experience in IT support, field services, or desktop support
Background in enduser computing, including laptop deployment and troubleshooting
Experience with migration or projectbased field work preferred
Ability to work independently onsite with remote IT support assistance
Willingness to travel domestically across the United States
Proficiency with Windows 10/11, user account setup, and application installation
Basic understanding of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking concepts, and security tools
