Join a high-performing infrastructure engineering team as a **Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer** and help build, optimize, and automate enterprise-scale Kubernetes environments that support critical business operations. In this hands-on role, you'll design, implement, and maintain highly available Kubernetes clusters while driving platform reliability, scalability, and performance. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers to automate infrastructure using Python or Bash, implement cloud-native best practices, and troubleshoot complex networking, storage, and application issues across AWS and Azure environments. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of Kubernetes experience, a strong background in containerization, and expertise with cloud platforms, automation, and DevOps tools such as Helm, Terraform, Ansible, Grafana, or Prometheus. This is a full-time onsite contract opportunity in Houston, TX with strong potential to convert to a permanent position for the right candidate.

- Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in enterprise environments.
- Configure, manage, and optimize Kubernetes infrastructure for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Kubernetes-related issues involving networking, storage, and application deployments.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline platform operations and reduce manual effort.
- Implement Kubernetes security best practices and configuration management.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to support platform enhancements and operational excellence.
- Monitor platform health and performance using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through automation and infrastructure modernization.
qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be authorized to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies.
Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts including Pods, Services, Deployments, StatefulSets, and persistent storage.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
Experience supporting Kubernetes in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS.
Experience with Helm and Kubernetes package management.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Grafana, Prometheus, and Dynatrace.
Contributions to open-source Kubernetes projects are a plus.
